New Provider For Mount Gambier Medicare Urgent Care Clinic

The Albanese Government is pleased to announce a new provider has been selected to operate the Medicare Urgent Care Clinic (UCC) in Mount Gambier, following a competitive tender process led by Country South Australia Primary Health Network.

Hawkins Medical Clinic have been identified as the successful provider to operate the Mount Gambier UCC. Hawkins Medical Clinic will begin delivering urgent care for the Mount Gambier community in the coming months once building works are completed.

The new Mount Gambier UCC will be open seven days a week operating extended hours. This clinic will help to ease pressure on the Mount Gambier and Districts Health Service, where over 47 per cent of emergency presentations in 2023-24 were for semi-urgent or non-urgent conditions.

This Medicare Urgent Care Clinic will offer walk-in care for urgent but non-life-threatening conditions and will be fully bulk billed.

The Mount Gambier UCC is part of a network of six existing Medicare UCCs across South Australia, including Elizabeth, Marion, Morphett Vale, Para Hills and Western Adelaide.
