From 11.59 pm tonight, Thursday 15 July the entire state of Victoria will enter a five-day lockdown until 11.59 pm on Tuesday 20 July.
This means there are only five reasons to leave your home: shopping for necessary goods; caregiving or compassionate reasons; for authorised work; exercise for up to two-hours per day; and to receive a vaccination.
Exercise and shopping will be limited to five kilometres from your home and time limits apply. If there's no shops in your five-kilometre radius, you'll be able to travel to the ones closest to you. Only one person per household, once per day may go shopping.
Face masks will also need to be worn inside and outdoors - everywhere except your own home.
As part of this lockdown, the City of Casey Customer Service counters at Bunjil Place and Cranbourne will close until the lockdown ends, as will the broader Bunjil Place precinct. Indoor community facilities will close, including indoor sports facilities and swimming pools. Libraries and library return chutes will be closed and there will be no click and collect. For more library information, please visit the CCLC website.
Our Youth Information Centres will also close, however, Youth Counselling and Support will continue to provide services through telehealth and limited face to face services.
Council will also temporarily halt the L2P Learner Driver Program and school crossing service for the duration of the lockdown.
Kindergartens and Family Day care will be OPEN, and our Maternal Child Health centres will be OPEN.
Playgrounds will remain OPEN, as will Wilson Botanic Park and the Old Cheese Factory, however a reminder that these facilities can only be used for exercise by residents who live within a 5km radius and face masks must be worn.
Essential Community Care services, such as meals on wheels, in-home services and volunteer transport will continue to operate.
