A new Suburban University Study Hub has officially opened today in Sorell, bringing university closer for students in south-east Tasmania.
Nearly half of young Australians have a degree, but not in Sorell where only 27.8 per cent of young people have a degree.
The evidence shows that where Study Hubs are, university participation goes up.
The Southeast Tasmania Study Hub is located at 4 Dubs and Co Drive Sorell and offers local support services and study facilities for students enrolled at any university or vocational education and training provider.
The Hub is part of the Albanese Government's $66.9 million investment to more than double the number of University Study Hubs across the country.
It is the fourth Study Hub to open in Tasmania with three other Hubs located at Zeehan/Smithton, St Helens and King Island.
