New tool to help job seekers find work

A new online tool will help job seekers and workers identify upcoming opportunities in the job market.

The Minister for Jobs and Industrial Relations and Minister for Women, the Hon Kelly O’Dwyer MP, today launched the Explore Australia online tool as part of the revamped Job Outlook website.

The Explore Australia tool helps job seekers discover how demand is changing in their local community.

The webpage provides details on projected jobs growth and the key skills employers are looking for in filling these roles.

"This new tool will help job seekers and workers better understand how they can position themselves to make the most of upcoming opportunities in their local community," Minister O’Dwyer said.

"The Coalition Government is firmly focussed on supporting job seekers, workers and students to identify and acquire the skills, training and work experience they need to find a job and keep it.

"There are more Australians in work than ever before, but there is more work to do. We are getting on with the job."

Nearly 1.4 million people visited the Job Outlook website last year alone to discover information about careers including labour market insights, career profiles, job pathways and a career quiz to help users to understand their work preferences and explore career options.

The Explore Australia tool can be accessed at joboutlook.gov.au/ExploreAustralia.aspx
