New traffic signals and pedestrian crossings are set to be turned on next week at the Brooker Highway's Montrose Foreshore intersection, northwest of Hobart.
The signals will be activated after peak travel times on the morning of Wednesday, 8 April 2026, subject to the successful final testing.
Road users are asked to be aware of these new traffic arrangements and expect changes in traffic flows.
Turning the signals on will mark the completion of the Montrose Foreshore Intersection Upgrade, which will improve safety for all road users at the Brooker Highway, Foreshore Road, and Duncan Street intersection in Montrose.
The $9 million project is jointly funded by the Albanese Government ($7.2 million through the Road Safety Program) and the Tasmanian Government ($1.8 million through the Tasmanian Road Safety Levy).
