New Truck Reinforcing Bayside Drainage Maintenance

We are deploying a third Eductor truck to enhance our capacity to manage stormwater and drainage infrastructure.

Investment in the new truck reflects our ongoing commitment to protecting local homes and streets from flooding while improving the reliability of our drainage network.

This new initiative will significantly expand our proactive drainage maintenance program. In addition to clearing debris and preventing blockages before they cause problems, the program will also collect vital condition data about our underground assets.

This information will help guide future renewal projects and ensure Council continues to invest wisely in the upkeep of our infrastructure.

With over 400 kilometres of underground drains- much of which dates back to the mid-20th century - this program will enable Council to progressively inspect the network, focusing first on older areas of concern.

Importantly, this means more local issues can be identified and addressed early, reducing the need for emergency responses during major rain events and improving service delivery across Bayside.
