New Walk-in Vaccination Hub in Rockdale: Bayside

State Member for Rockdale, Steve Kamper, MP and Bayside front-line workers were the first to roll up their sleeves and get the jab this morning when NSW Health and Bayside Council officially opened a new walk-in vaccination a hub in the Rockdale Town Hall, 444-446 Princes Highway, Rockdale.

After getting the tick of approval from the Local Member and council staff who attended a trial run on Wednesday 11 August, the free vaccination hub is now open to the public from Monday to Friday between 10am - 4pm.

No appointments necessary and anyone wanting to be vaccinated with AstraZeneca can attend.

No booking or Medicare card is needed but please bring a photo ID or Medicare card if you have one.

"We are thrilled to have a hub now operating in Bayside and it is already proving popular with a steady flow of people walking in to get vaccinated," Mayor Joe Awada said.

"Working together across all levels of government to get our community vaccinated as quickly as possible is the aim - this is a race and it's the only way for us to return to life as we used to know it.

"I encourage everyone to roll up their sleeve and get the jab. The more people who are vaccinated, means the less time we are likely to remain in lock down.

"I would like to see more pop-up testing and vaccination sites in Bayside and we have been exploring other possibilities such as the Botany Pool and Arncliffe Youth Centre with NSW Health," Mayor Awada said.
