We're building a future where young people lead grassroots sustainability action across Boroondara - strengthening community resilience, inspiring behaviour change and showcasing the city's commitment to climate leadership.
Partnering with CERES, we're offering a funded 10-week Sustainability Changemaker Program for young adults aged 18 to 35 who live, work or study in Boroondara.
The locally tailored program offers an immersive course where participants will learn about behaviour change practices, community-led climate action, communication and project management to create their own Boroondara-focussed sustainability project. Upon completion, participants will receive a CERES-accredited micro-credential.
We're delivering 2 program rounds each year, with the inaugural program starting on Wednesday 18 March 2026. There are 15 places available per intake.
We're proud to be delivering this initiative as an action in Council's Climate Action Plan, which commits us to deliver programs that support the development of sustainability leaders in the community. Through the Sustainability Changemaker program we're fostering a new generation of sustainability leader - equipped with the skills, support and inspiration to deliver local community impact.
