Mitchell Shire Council will begin a series of night-time road inspections across rural roads north of Broadford from Monday 8 June to Sunday 29 June.
Inspections will take place between 5.30pm and 2.30am and are being carried out as part of Council's ongoing road safety and maintenance program.
What are the inspections for?
The inspections will assess the visibility and condition of key road safety infrastructure at night, including:
- Road signage reflectivity
- Cat's eyes and raised pavement markers
- Roadside guideposts
- Line marking visibility
The works will help identify areas that may require maintenance or replacement to improve visibility and safety for road users, particularly in low light conditions.
What residents can expect
- Residents may notice Council inspectors and vehicles travelling slowly or stopping along roads during the inspection period.
- There will be no road closures or traffic impacts associated with the inspections.
