The Northern Territory Government is supporting evacuees from Numbulwar and providing a temporary evacuation staging centre at the Nightcliff High School gym, for approximately 500 Numbulwar residents being evacuated in preparedness for Tropical Cyclone Narelle from midday today.
The safety of our students and staff remains our top priority and the evacuation staging centre will be out of bounds for students with fencing and security on site.
Nightcliff High School staff will remain focused on teaching and student supervision. They will not be required to work in the evacuation staging centre, to minimise disruption to students and their learning.
The Northern Territory Government thanks Nightcliff High School families, school staff and the wider community for their cooperation and resilience as we all work to support Territorians impacted by the cyclone.
