Council will be doing roadwork on Ewingsdale Road over six nights from Monday 5 December 2022.

The work, which involves repairing the surface of the road, will be between the roundabouts at the Byron Central Hospital and the Cavanbah Centre.

Traffic will be reduced to one lane and drivers should expect short delays.

Phil Holloway, Director Infrastructure Services, said that because Ewingsdale Road is so busy the work is being done at night.

"Ewingsdale Road carries more than 23,000 vehicles a day making it one of the busiest roads not only in our Shire, but the entire Northern Rivers," Mr Holloway said.

"We recognise that roadwork during the day creates an enormous amount of congestion and so we will be working through the night, starting at 6pm and finishing at 6am," he said.

Traffic control will in in place during the roadwork with the project to be finished by 6am on Sunday 11 December.
