Nillumbik Firms Triumph at Northern Business Awards

NBAA winners for 2025

Two Hurstbridge businesses have been recognised for their passion and innovation at the 2025 Northern Business Achievement Awards (NBAA).

Sustainable Building and Design received the Sustainability and Environment Award, and RadTest Australia won the Best Small Business or Microbusiness Award at the Grand Finale Gala held in early December.

Presented by NORTHLink, the awards are a regional partnership between local government, education and industry that celebrate business excellence and support the growth of a strong economy across Melbourne's north. Each year, councils nominate standout businesses to take part, with finalists assessed across innovation, leadership and community impact.

These awards recognise the passion, resilience and innovation that thrive in Nillumbik's small towns and business precincts.

Sustainable Building and Design is a business specialising in sustainable building materials and practices, and RadTest Australia is a leader in radiation testing, inspection and certification. Both businesses are based in Hurstbridge.

Mayor and Bunjil Ward Councillor Naomi Joiner said it was wonderful to see businesses in Hurstbridge thrive.

"Nillumbik is home to many innovative businesses at the forefront of technology. It is fantastic to see these local businesses recognised for their efforts and contribution to the local community," Cr Joiner said.

"Their achievements emphasise the important role our local entrepreneurs play in shaping a strong and competitive local economy," she said.

Kiara You from Imagine Re-Evolution was our nominee for the Young Business Achiever Award.

Congratulations to these inspiring Hurstbridge businesses on their success and for proudly representing Nillumbik on the regional stage.
