Nine Teens Charged in Melbourne Carjacking Spree

Fawkner Divisional Response Unit detectives have charged nine teenagers with a total of 61 offences following a series of alleged carjackings across Melbourne's north.

Police executed search warrants between 22 and 28 July, where nine teenage boys were arrested.

An allegedly stolen vehicle, drugs, tasers, an incorrectly stored firearm, peptides and steroids were located and seized during the warrants.

The teens, all aged 15 to 17 and from the northern suburbs, were charged with a total of 61 offences including:

  • aggravated carjacking
  • carjacking
  • discharge firearm
  • affray
  • intentionally cause injury

The charges follow a series of 18 alleged carjackings across Melbourne's north, including Coburg, Fawkner, Hadfield, Campbellfield, Mickleham and Wallan, between 1 and 10 July.

The teenagers were all remanded and will face a children's court at a later date.
