Griffith City Council is calling on the community to shine a spotlight on the everyday heroes who make our city a great place to live.
Nominations are now open for this year's Australia Day Awards, recognising individuals, groups and events that enrich Griffith.
If you know someone who goes above and beyond for our community, make sure their contribution is acknowledged. Whether it's a tireless volunteer, a rising young leader, or a standout community initiative, this is your chance to ensure their efforts are celebrated.
Nominations close at 4pm on Friday, 28 November 2025. Winners will be honoured at the Australia Day Ceremony in January 2026, held at the Griffith Regional Theatre.
Council's Community Development Coordinator, Melissa Canzian encourages everyone to get involved.
"These awards are about recognising the heart and soul of Griffith, the people who give selflessly to make our city better. In particular, I want to urge sporting clubs, service organisations and community groups to nominate someone who deserves to be celebrated."
