Resurfacing of Noosa Drive between RACV Noosa Resort and Hastings Street is set to begin next week.
Crews will also resurface Noosa Parade between Noosa Drive and the Garth Prowd Bridge.
Infrastructure Services Director Carl Billingham said Council contractors would complete the work at night to minimise traffic impacts.
"We'll be making every effort to keep the traffic flowing, but motorists should expect delays of up to 10 minutes at a time. If possible it will be best to avoid the area if you can," he said.
Work will be carried out from 6pm to 6am, starting August 25.
"We'll be making every effort to complete the work quickly. We're aiming to have the job finished by September 16," Mr Billingham said.
The roads will be open during the day, and Council has asked residents not to park in the street.
The roadworks will not impact local bus services.
"We appreciate motorists' patience while we complete this work. The road is due for resurfacing and the result will make for a much smoother drive."
