North West search for overdue vessel resumed

The search for an overdue vessel in North West Tasmania has now resumed.

Aerial and sea searches are underway with two police boats and a Westpac Rescue Helicopter now deployed to the area.

Police search teams assisted by SES are on the ground are conducting a coastline search.

Police ask any member of the community considering entering the water in boat to assist, to speak to police first to ensure safety and a coordinated approach.

Anyone with information that would assist the search is urged to contact police on 131 444.

The yellow and white 17ft Caribbean half cab vessel entered the water at the Wynyard boat ramp around noon Monday with three people on board and has failed to return.
