Tasmania Police Search and Rescue Squad – Northern District, in conjunction with Northern Region SES, are conducting a Search and Rescue exercise in the Derby area tomorrow.
This exercise will involve a number of scenarios occurring on the Blue Derby Mountain Bike trails between 10am and 6pm.
Approximately 60 participants are expected from:
- Tasmania Police
- Northern Region State Emergency Service
- Ambulance Tasmania
- Westpac Rescue Helicopter
- Local community groups and businesses.
Police would like to advise that some trails in the area will be utilised for the exercise, which will involve some foot traffic and helicopter winching operations.
