Today, investigators from SA JACET, a joint task force between SAPOL's Public Protection Branch and the Australian Federal Police (AFP), arrested a 27-year-old man from the northern suburbs for two counts of communicate to make a child amenable to sexual activity and one count of produce child exploitation material.
The man is alleged to have engaged in grooming behaviours via online platforms to engage a child in sexual activity.
He was refused police bail and is expected to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on 25 September.
"This arrest reflects our tireless and absolute commitment to protecting children, including protecting them from online predators", said Detective Inspector Anthony van der Stelt, Acting Officer in Charge of Special Crime Investigation Branch.
"Police will investigate individuals who use online platforms to groom children and attempt to establish inappropriate relationships with them.
"Our message is clear. Anyone engaging in the sexual exploitation of children can expect to be located and held accountable."
