A meeting with private sector was organised to prepare for the upcoming conference in Chisinau, Moldova, on 28 April 2026. The dialogue focused on the rising sophistication of falsification and diversion affecting medical products and underlined the value of closer international cooperation.
Discussions also covered the participation of industry stakeholders within the Working Group on unauthorised removal, including theft, from the supply chain of medical products. This group analyses vulnerabilities exploited by organised crime and proposes measures to strengthen legal and operational frameworks under the MEDICRIME Convention.
This meeting fulfils the conventional obligation for information exchange in collaboration with the private sector. Furthermore, it also reinforces the Convention's goal of protecting public health, upholding victims' rights and ensuring the integrity of the supply chain. The Convention is open to accession by all states worldwide.
