Congratulations to November's Kookaburra Volunteer of the Month

Cricket Victoria is proud to congratulate Leah Simpson of Meerlieu Cricket Club, our Kookaburra Volunteer of the Month for November.

Leah has long been a cornerstone of the Meerlieu community, driving participation across the club and playing a pivotal role in the growth of female cricket. A dedicated volunteer, Leah has worn many hats over the years including Junior Coordinator and Secretary, all while supporting her four children, who each play cricket for Meerlieu CC.

Her commitment to growing the game extends well beyond the club boundary. For the past nine years, Leah has delivered cricket clinics at Bairnsdale 754 Primary School, helping introduce countless young players to the sport and guiding many of them toward joining Meerlieu CC.

Leah also oversees the organisation of all club merchandise, ensuring members and players proudly represent the Meerlieu colours. This season, she has been the driving force behind a historic milestone Meerlieu Cricket Club's first-ever women's team, which is now proudly competing in the Bairnsdale Cricket Association.

Leah's passion, leadership, and tireless efforts continue to enrich the club and inspire those around her. Cricket Victoria congratulates Leah on this well-deserved recognition and thanks her for her outstanding contribution to community cricket.
