NSW police probe following pursuit

A man is assisting police with inquiries after a police operation and pursuit today, NSW Police say.

About 11am today, officers conducted a police operation at a residence on Golf Link Drive, Watanobbi, following reports a wanted man was located there.

Police will allege during the operation, the 40-year-old man fled the scene in a truck resulting in a police pursuit.

The pursuit was terminated after identifying a two-year-old child was in the truck.

Officers continued to follow the vehicle with assistance from PolAir.

About 3.45pm, officers attached to Tuggerah Lakes Local Area Command with assistance from PolAir, South West Metro RES and other specialist units arrested a 40-year-old man.

He is currently assisting police with inquiries and charges are expected to be laid.

The two-year-old child was uninjured and was taken to Bankstown Hospital as a precaution.

Investigations are continuing.
