NSW police probe stabbing

Police are investigating after a stabbing in Sydney’s inner city overnight, NSW Police say.

About 1.45am tomorrow, emergency services were called to a unit block on Clisdell Street, Surry Hills, after reports a man had been stabbed.

Officers from Surry Hills Local Area Command attended and located a 34-year-old man with injuries to his head.

A 28-year-old woman was assessed by NSW Ambulance Paramedics at the scene.

A short time later, about 1.50am, police were called to a unit block on Belvoir Street, Surry Hills, following reports a man was injured.

Officers attended and located a 37-year-man with wounds to his head and hand.

Both men and the woman were taken to St Vincent’s Hospital.

Detectives from Surry Hills Local Area Command established crime scenes at both locations and commenced an investigation.

Following inquiries, the 37-year-old man was arrested in hospital and placed under police guard.

Police believe the incidents are connected.
