NSW Citizen of Year nominations closing soon

Council is reminding the community to get their nominations in for the 2024 NSW Local Citizen of the Year Awards before the deadline on Monday 8 January 2024.

Nominations are open across numerous categories to recognise Snowy Monaro locals that are making notable contributions to our region. Our community is known for its selflessness and heroism during crises, and we're calling on you to do your part to make sure that deserving locals get the recognition they deserve.

Categories in the 2024 NSW Local Citizen of the Year Awards:

  • Citizen of the Year (19 & older)
  • Young Citizen of the Year (18 & younger)
  • Special Achievement of the Year (community event, group, arts, culture, emergency service, business, or education)
  • Sportsperson of the Year (19 & older)
  • Young Sportsperson of the Year (18 & younger)
  • Environmental Award (individual or group, any age)
  • Young Environmental Citizen of the Year (school-aged)

Nominations close 12 pm (noon) on Monday 8 January 2024. Awards presented at Australia Day celebrations in Bombala, Cooma, and Jindabyne.
