NSW Govt Boosts Camden Schools, Roads Investment

Camden Council has welcomed the NSW Government's announcement of more than $35

million for land acquisition, planning and design to support the delivery of vital schools and

road connections in the Camden area.

The funding includes:

  • $20 million for land acquisition to support future schools in the Southwest Growth

    Area;

  • $9.5 million for land acquisition towards the Rickard Road-Ingleburn Road

    intersection upgrade at Leppington; and

  • $6 million for planning and design of the Raby Road and Devonshire Road

    extension at Leppington.

Mayor of Camden, Cr Ashleigh Cagney, stated the announcement supported Council's

The Time Is Now campaign priorities.

"We know our area is growing at one of the fastest rates in the country. This growth must

be matched with timely investment in schools and road upgrades," she said.

"This announcement is an important recognition of what Council has been saying for some

time - that the time is now to fund the essential infrastructure that underpins liveability and

ensures our community has access to quality education and efficient transport

connections.
