NSW man and woman charged, firearms seized

A man and woman have been charged, and firearms seized, as part of an investigation in Sydney's west.

Detectives from State Crime Command's Gangs Squad established Strike Force Tombolo to investigate criminal activity in Western Sydney.

Following an extensive investigation, a 25-year-old man was arrested during a vehicle stop on Adelaide Street, Oxley Park, about 9.45am today.

Shortly after, strike force detectives, with the assistance of officers from Mt Druitt Local Area Command and the Public Order and Riot Squad, executed a search warrant at a home in Oxley Park and at a property at Llandilo.

Police located and seized methylamphetamine, mobile phones, cash, and counterfeit currency.

Detectives also located four rifles and two pistols, which were buried on the Llandilo property, as well as a bobcat, which is believed to be stolen.

The man was taken to Mt Druitt Police Station and charged with six counts of drug supply, conspiracy to steal motor vehicle, do act with intent to pervert the course of justice, four counts of possess prohibited firearm, two counts of possess unregistered pistol and six counts of not keep firearm safe.

He has been refused bail to appear at Mt Druitt Local Court tomorrow.

In addition, an 18-year-old woman was arrested at the Oxley Park home and taken to Mt Druitt Police Station.

She was charged with commercial drug supply, and has been refused bail to appear at Mt Druitt Local Court tomorrow.

Investigations under Strike Force Tombolo are continuing.
