NSW man arrested after Coogee barricade

A man has been arrested after a stand-off with police in Coogee lasting more than four hours, NSW Police say.

Police from Eastern Beaches Local Area Command were called to the house on Alison Road about 8pm today, responding to reports a man was making threats.

Police will allege the man armed himself with knives and climbed onto the roof of the house.

A perimeter was established and negotiators were called to the scene to speak with him.

About 12.20am tomorrow, the man surrendered to police without further incident.

He has been taken to Prince of Wales Hospital for assessment; police hope to speak with the man following this assessment.

No one was injured.
