NSW man charged after serious collision near Forbes

A man has been charged following a serious collision near Forbes yesterday, NSW Police say.

Just before 10.15am yesterday, a white Toyota Aurion travelling east on the Newell Highway was stopped at road works, about 30km west of Forbes.

Police have been told a coach also travelling east collided with the Toyota.

The driver of the Toyota, a 61-year-old woman, was taken to Parkes Hospital and later transferred to Orange Hospital for treatment.

The driver of the coach, a 43-year-old man, was not injured.

Crash Investigation Unit attended and examined the scene.

Following inquiries, the 43-year-old man was arrested at Parkes Police Station and charged with dangerous drive occasioning grievous bodily harm, negligent driving occasioning grievous bodily harm, drive unregistered vehicle and use uninsured motor vehicle.

He was granted strict bail conditions to appear at Forbes Local Court on Thursday 7 July 2016.
