A man has been charged after a firearm was allegedly discharged at a home in the state’s north yesterday, NSW Police say.
About 9am today, police will allege four shots were fired at a home on a rural property on Bruxner Road at Drake, about 77km west of Casino.
Four people were inside the home at the time and were uninjured.
About 10am, officers from Richmond Local Area Command and the Northern Region Dog Unit attended and established a crime scene, which was forensically examined.
Following inquiries, officers attended a nearby home about 30 minutes later and arrested a 45-year-old man.
Officers executed a search warrant at the home and allegedly located ammunition, two firearms and a rifle scope. Cannabis leaf and seeds were also located at the home.
The man was taken to Casino Police Station and charged with recklessly firing at dwelling house, fire firearm likely to injure and not keep firearm safe.
He was refused bail to appear before Lismore Local Court today tomorrow.
Inquiries into the matter are continuing.
