NSW man charged after stabbing

A man has been charged after a stabbing at a party in Sydney’s South-West yesterday.

About 3.45am today, a 42-year-old man was at a home on Bilpin Place, Bossley Park, when he became involved in an altercation with a 41-year-old man in a bedroom of the home.

The younger man produced a knife and allegedly inflicted a number of wounds on the 42-year-old. He also allegedly stomped on his head and face.

Other attendees at the party intervened and drove the wounded man to hospital for treatment to serious wounds. He was later transferred to Westmead Hospital for further treatment.

Police were notified and officers from Fairfield Local Area Command established an investigation. A crime scene was established at the Bossley Park home.

About 8.45pm yesterday, police arrested the 41-year-old man at the home on Bilpin Place, NSW Police say.

He was taken to Fairfield Police Station where he was charged with wounding with intent.

He was refused bail to appear at Fairfield Local Court today tomorrow.
