NSW man charged following joint operation

A man will face Goulburn Local Court today tomorrow after numerous alleged vehicle thefts and break-ins throughout southern NSW., NSW Police say

A joint operation, involving police from The Hume and Shoalhaven local area commands, begun after a male forced his way into a house on Bellevue Avenue, Moss Vale, shortly before 11.30pm on Saturday 21 May 2016.

While inside the home he was allegedly confronted by a female occupant before he grabbed a set of keys and allegedly stole a vehicle that was parked in the driveway.

Police on route to the scene saw the vehicle nearby and attempted to pull it over however the driver dumped the car in Monterey Avenue, Moss Vale, and ran from the scene.

This incident, together with numerous break-in offences at businesses and residential homes in the Milton Ulladulla area during May 2016, saw significant resources in the Southern Region work together to investigate the offences.

In addition two officers from Traffic and Highway Patrol Command were deployed to the area on trail bikes to search dirt tracks in the vicinity of Ulladulla, Kings Point and Burrill Lake.

As a result of enquiries, a man who police believe may be able to assist with inquiries was identified and a Warrant was issued for his arrest.

About 6pm Sunday 22 May, 2016, a 36-year-old man was arrested in a house in Monterey Avenue, Moss Vale.

He was arrested by the virtue of an outstanding warrant and was taken to Bowral Police Station where he was later charged with break, enter & steal (x5), police pursuit (Skyes Law), stolen motor vehicle and goods in custody relating to alleged offences committed in the Milton Ulladulla area.

He was refused bail and will appear in Goulburn Local Court today tomorrow.
