A man has been charged with 12 offences following a police pursuit in Sydney’s yesterday.
About 12.15pm today, police attached to St George Local Area Command attempted to stop a grey Holden Commodore on Francis Avenue, Brighton-Le-Sands, for the purposes of a random breath test, NSW Police say.
When the vehicle failed to stop a pursuit was commenced.
It was terminated a short time later.
A second pursuit commenced when the vehicle was seen travelling north on Southern Cross Drive, Botany, and ended when the car stopped near Gardeners Road.
The driver, a 34-year-old man, was arrested.
He was breath tested at the scene and returned a negative result.
Officers conducted a search of him and the vehicle and allegedly located and seized a number of items including cannabis, methylamphetamine, knuckle dusters, a knife, mobile phones and cash.
The man was taken to Mascot Police Station and charged with 12 offences including:
- Police pursuit (Skye’s Law);
- Supply prohibited drug;
- Possess prohibited drug (x4);
- Possess restricted substance;
- Possess prohibited weapon (x2); and,
- Goods in custody.
He was bail refused to face Waverley Local Court today tomorrow.
