A man will appear in court today following an alleged pursuit in the Coffs Harbour Local Area Command early this morning, NSW Police say.
About 1am today, police attempted to stop a white Subaru Impreza with Queensland number plates travelling along the Pacific Highway, Coffs Harbour.
Police will allege the driver failed to stop.
A short time later police located the vehicle travelling along Gaudrons Road, Sapphire Beach, and attempted to stop it.
A pursuit commenced to a caravan park at Moonee Beach where the vehicle stopped and the driver allegedly attempted to flee on foot.
The 24-year-old man was arrested nearby and searched, when police located a knife alleged to be in the man’s possession.
He was taken to Coffs Harbour Police Station, where he was charged with a number of offences including police pursuit (not stop), possession of a knife in a public place and possession of ammunition.
The man was refused bail to appeal at Coffs Harbour Local Court today.
