NSW man charged following stabbing

A man has been charged following the alleged stabbing of another man in Dundas Valley late last month, NSW Police say.

Just before 2pm on Tuesday 29 June 2016, officers attached to Rosehill Local Area Command were called to a home on Yates Avenue, following reports of a stabbing.

Police will allege a 56-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man were involved in a verbal altercation when a 40-year-old man attempted to intervene, resulting in a physical altercation between the two men, and resulting in the older man being stabbed in the neck.

The injured man was taken to Westmead Hospital in a serious condition; and remains there in the intensive care unit.

Following inquiries, just before 10am today, a 20-year-old man attended Parramatta Police Station, where he was charged with wound with intent to murder and an unrelated offence.

He was refused bail, to appear at Parramatta Bail Court tomorrow.
