NSW man charged over armed robbery

Police have arrested and charged a man over an alleged armed robbery at a hotel in Bondi Junction yesterday, NSW Police say.

About 2pm yesterday, a man armed with a firearm entered a hotel on Ebley Street and demanded money.

He left the scene with cash.

Officers from Eastern Suburbs Local Area Command attended and a crime scene was established.

About 7.40am today, police arrested a 35-year-old man on Elizabeth Street Waterloo. He was taken to Redfern Police Station.

About 2.05pm, police executed a search warrant at the man’s home on Wellington Street, Waterloo, seizing numerous items, including, allegedly, a toy pistol.

The man was subsequently charged with robbery whilst armed with a dangerous weapon.

He was refused bail to appear at Central Local Court tomorrow.
