NSW man charged, police seize drugs with estimated value over $500,000

A man has been charged over alleged drug offences following a search warrant in Sans Souci yesterday afternoon.

Strike Force Grassy was launched by officers from Redfern Region Enforcement Squad which investigates the alleged cultivation of prohibited drugs.

About 3pm yesterday, police executed a search warrant at a house on Bonanza Parade.

During a search of the property, officers allegedly located more than 150 cannabis plants, with an estimated potential street value of $564,000, NSW Police say.

Police also located cash.

All items were seized from the location and will undergo forensic examination.

A 20-year-old man was arrested at the home and taken to St George Police Station where he was charged with cultivate prohibited plant – commercial quantity, use/consume/wast electricity without authority and proceed of crime.


The man was refused bail and is due to appear before Parramatta Local Court today.
