NSW man charged with historical indecency and sexual assault offences

A man will appear in court today after being charged with indecency and aggravated sexual assault offences allegedly committed in the 1990s, NSW Police say.

Officers attached to Sutherland Local Area Command established Strike Force Metella in August 2015 to investigate a number of alleged historical sex offences between 1994 and 1997 in Kareela.

Following investigations, yesterday today, a 60-year-old man was arrested in Kirrawee and taken to Sutherland Police Station.

He was charged with aggravated act of indecency, three counts of aggravated indecent act, and two counts of aggravated sexual assault.

The man has been refused bail, to appear at Sutherland Local Court today tomorrow.
