NSW police appeal after assaults

Police are appealing for public assistance after several reports of women being assaulted in Byron Bay, NSW Police say.

Between November 2015 and May 2016, women using the walking track along Lighthouse Road have been approached.

Police have been told the women were walking past bushland near the intersection of Brooke Drive and Lighthouse Road when they were approached by a man who touched them inappropriately.

Detectives from Tweed/Byron Local Area Command have launched an investigation and are urging anyone else who may have been approached or any witnesses to come forward.

Investigators would also like to speak with a man who may be able to assist with inquiries.

He is described as being Caucasian appearance, aged between 20 and 30-years-old, and of a thin build. He has previously been seen wearing long shorts or board shorts, and not wearing a shirt or having a shirt wrapped around his head.
