NSW police appeal after firearms stolen in state's north west

Police are appealing for public assistance after firearms were stolen in the state's north west.

On the night of Friday 18 January 2019, a 60-year-old man was sleeping in his truck on Bugilbone Road, Pilliga, when at some time during the night unknown persons have forced entry into the rear of the vehicle and into the firearms safe.

Firearms, ammunition, and other items were stolen.

The firearms are used for the 60-year-old man's work as a drover, and were stored securely inside the truck.

Officers from Central North Police District were notified, who attended and established a crime scene.

Police are appealing for anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
