NSW police appeal after woman indecently assaulted

Police are appealing for public assistance after a woman was indecently assaulted on the Central Coast yesterday, NSW Police say.

The woman, aged 18, told police she was grabbed from behind while walking towards the southern entrance of Woy Woy Railway Station, just after 6pm yesterday.

The man pushed her against a fence and then indecently assaulted her. She got away by striking him in the face with her handbag.

Officers from Brisbane Water Local Area Command were notified of the incident and patrolled the area for the man, but were unable to locate him.

Investigators would like to speak with a man who may be able to assist with inquiries.

He is described as being aged 20 to 30, about 175cm tall, with tanned skin, and a chubby build.

The man was last seen wearing a green-coloured shirt with ‘Nautica" across the chest in white and was wearing thin-framed eye glasses.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Gosford Police or Crime Stoppers.
