NSW police appeal to identify man who may be able to assist with armed robbery inquiries

Police are seeking public assistance to identify a man who may have information relevant to an investigation into a convenience store robbery two months ago, NSW Police say.

About 8.30am on Friday 8 June 2018, a man entered a convenience store on Cowper Road, Glebe, and threatened the staff member with a firearm, demanding cash.

The man stole cash before running from the store toward Wentworth Park.

Officers from Leichhardt Police Area Command attended and established a crime scene, which was examined by specialist forensic officers.

Detectives from the Robbery and Serious Crime Squad established Strike Force Irandra to investigate the robbery.

As investigations continue, Strike Force Irandra detectives have released CCTV footage of a man, who they believe may be able to assist with their inquiries.

The man is depicted as being of Pacific Islander/Maori appearance, with a large build, short black hair and a faint moustache.

He is wearing a dark-coloured hooded jacket, with a large white logo on the front; dark black pants, and black shoes. He is carrying a red duffel bag with black handles and straps.

Strike force detectives are appealing for anyone who recognises the man or has information relevant to the investigation to contact police.

Anyone with information that may assist Strike Force Irandra detectives is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
