NSW police arrest 12 people over drug supply in Lake Illawarra

Police have arrested eight men and four women today over alleged drug supply in the Lake Illawarra region, NSW Police say.

Officers from Lake Illawarra Local Area Command and Wollongong Local Area Command formed Strike Force Worra to investigate the supply of illicit drugs.

As a result of ongoing inquiries, about 8.30am today, officers from Lake Illawarra Local Area Command, assisted by neighbouring commands, executed eight search warrants across the Lake Illawarra at properties in Unanderra, Warrawong, Warilla, Corrimal, two at Port Kembla and two at Cringila.

During the searches, methamphetamine and heroin was located and seized.

In total, 12 people including eight men and four women were arrested. They have been taken to both Wollongong and Lake Illawarra Police Stations where they are currently assisting with inquiries.

Investigations by Strike Force Worra are continuing.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
