NSW police charged member of outlaw motorcycle gang

A senior member of the Rebels outlaw motorcycle gang (OMCG) has been charged after Strike Force Raptor South located restricted substances and more than $40,000 cash during a search of his home.

As part of ongoing targeting of the illicit activities of OMCG in the Illawarra, Strike Force Raptor South executed a search warrant at a home at Warilla about 5pm yesterday (Monday 4 February 2019).

During the search, police seized $41,000 cash, Buprenorphine strips, a set of knuckledusters, steroids, and various documentation.

The 29-year-old male resident was arrested and taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station.

He was charged with possess suspected proceeds of crime, supply prohibited drug, possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit, and two counts of possess prohibited drug.

The man, who is a senior member of the local chapter of the Rebels OMCG, was granted strict conditional bail and is due to appear at Port Kembla Local Court on Wednesday 13 February 2019.

Inquiries are continuing.
