NSW police conduct drug dog operation - Lake Macquarie Local Area Command

Specialist licensing police conducted a targeted drug dog operation for the possession and sale of illegal substances in licensed premises in the Lake Macquarie Local Area Command earlier this week, NSW Police say.

On Friday (24 June 2016) officers attached to the Lake Macquarie Local Area Command attended 11 licensed premises.

As a result of the operation, police detected two men with drugs in licensed premises on Main Road, Cardiff.

At 4.00pm, (24 June 2016), a 27-year-old man was approached and searched by police, where they detected drugs. He was issued with a cannabis caution.

At 8.45pm, (24 June 2016), a 37-year-old man was also detected with drugs in his possession at Cardiff.

He was charged with possession of prohibited drugs and was issued a Future Court Attendance notice to appear at Belmont Local Court on Wednesday 27 July 2016.
