NSW Police Hunt for Leads in Kempsey Car Fire Rampage

Detectives are appealing for public assistance as investigations continue into a fire which destroyed at least 42 vehicles at Kempsey over the weekend.

About 4.45pm yesterday (Sunday 17 September 2023), emergency services were called to an automotive business on Angus McNeil Crescent, Kempsey, following reports of a fire.

Fire and Rescue NSW firefighters extinguished the fire; however, at least 42 vehicles were destroyed.

No injuries were reported as a result of the fire.

Police from Mid North Coast Police District attended and established a crime scene.

An investigation has been launched into the circumstances surrounding the fire which is being treated as suspicious.

As inquiries continue, investigators urge anyone with information or dashcam footage from the area at the time to come forward.
