NSW Police Hunt for Leads in Lake Macquarie Home Invasion

Police are appealing for public assistance after a man was assaulted during a home invasion at Lake Macquarie last night.

About 10.30pm (Sunday 28 January 2024), the occupant of a granny flat on McEwan Street, Belmont South, was awoken when a man forced his way inside the property.

The occupant fled the granny flat and was met by a further two men outside the property.

Police have been told the three men assaulted the resident before stealing a set of car keys and fleeing the scene.

The resident, aged 25, was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance Paramedics for facial injuries and swelling.

Officers from Lake Macquarie Police District established a crime scene which was forensically examined by police.
