NSW police probe after act of indecency

Police are appealing for information after a man was seen performing an act of indecency in a reserve in Glendale yesterday, NSW Police say.

About 8.30am today, a 15-year-old girl was walking to school along Impala Street and onto a foot path running behind a fast food restaurant.

The footpath runs through a reserve onto George Street, where the girl noticed a man standing facing bushes. She passed this man before she looked around again and saw him performing an act of indecency.

The teen walked quickly to George Street where she sought assistance from a local resident.

She described the man to police as being Caucasian in appearance with tanned skin, about 180cm tall with a muscular build and grey to white receding hair. He was clean shaven with a heavy jaw-line.

Lake Macquarie police are looking into the possibility this indecent act may be linked to an incident that was reported last month where a man was seen loitering in the grounds of a school at Cardiff.

In that incident, which occurred on Tuesday August 29 2017, the man is described as being of a medium build, with an olive/tanned complexion, about 175 cm tall, with dark coloured hair, and unshaven.

He was wearing a grey jumper, black tracksuit pants, and prescription glasses.

Officers from Lake Macquarie Local Area Command continue to investigate these matters and would appreciate any information from the community that may assist.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
