NSW police probe after man assaulted

Police are appealing for information following a home invasion in Tweed Heads last night, NSW Police say.

About 7.40pm yesterday, emergency services were called to Seymour Street, following concerns for a man who was found injured near a unit block.

The man was treated at the scene before being taken to Gold Coast Hospital with serious head injuries.

A crime scene was established by Detectives from Tweed/Byron Local Area command.

Detectives have since been told that the man was in the garage of the premises when he was approached by two men and assaulted. As a result of the assault, the man lost consciousness.

Investigators would like to speak to two men who they believe may be able to assist with their investigations.

Officers would also like to speak to anyone who heard or saw anything unusual in the area between 6pm and 7pm yesterday (30 August 2016).

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stopers.
