NSW police probe armed robbery- Canterbury

Police are appealing for information about an armed robbery in Canterbury last night, NSW Police say.

About 6.20pm today, police were called to a liquor store on Canterbury Road after reports of a robbery.

Police have been told one man entered and threatened a staff member with a handgun, before fleeing with cash towards Howard Street.

No one was injured as a result of the incident.

Police are now searching for a man described as being about 180cm tall with a heavy build. At the time of the incident the man had his face covered and was wearing a maroon coloured hooded jumper, long red pants and black shoes.

Officers from Ashfield Local Area Command launched an investigation and are calling for witnesses to come forward.
