NSW police probe collision between car and train

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a collision on the state’s Mid North Coast today, NSW Police say.

Just after 11am today,today, emergency services were called to Henry’s Lane, Coraville Road, Moorland, following reports a car and freight train collided.

The driver, believed to be a 30-year-old woman, and three children, aged two, six and a seven were in the vehicle at the time of the accident.

The two-year-old girl and seven-year-old girl are being air lifted to John Hunter Hospital in a serious condition.

NSW Ambulance Paramedics treated the six-year-old girl for shock and minor injuries.

The 30-year-old woman appears to have serious injuries, and is still being treated onsite by paramedics.

The driver of the train was treated for shock and will be taken to Manning Hospital for mandatory blood and urine testing.

Officers attached to Manning Great Lakes Local Area Command with the assistance of Crash Investigation Unit established a crime scene and are currently investigating the incident.
