NSW police probe fatal crash

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal crash at Peel, near Bathurst today, NSW Police say.

Just after 1pm today, police and emergency services were called to Sofala Road, following reports of a single car crash.

Initial investigations suggest a white Toyota sedan, being driven by a man believed to be aged in his 50s, left the roadway and crashed into a tree.

The driver, and only occupant of the car, died at the scene. He is yet to be formally identified.

A crime scene was established and investigations into the cause of the crash are continuing.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stopers.
